To provide enough substance to the answers I will try to give, I have composed a collection of facts and figures related to eye closure. To give a more complete picture, however, I have not limited my selection to closed eyes.
This collection is divided into three subchapters,
- Medicine, explaining the anatomical basics of closing the eyes,
- Neuro/bio/psychology, giving details on perception and imagination
- and Culture, outlining cultural developments related to eyes and faces.
